We hope you never have to experience a power outage, however, the following information will help you and your family cope with an outage if one should occur.
Keep a Power Outage Kit on hand and be sure all family members know of its location. A Power Outage Kit should include items such as the following:
- Matches
- Candles
- Portable radio
- Flashlight with fresh batteries
- Non-perishable food that needs little to no cooking
- Manual can opener
- Baby supplies for infants
- Bottled water
- First-aid kit
- Personal hygiene, sanitary supplies
- Pet supplies
- Playing cards, games, and books for entertainment
Medical Necessity
Outages can be life-threatening to anyone on life support equipment such as a respirator or infant heart monitor. Therefore, notify us now — don’t wait until an outage occurs. If any member of your family is on a life-support system, please supply us with a written statement from a medical physician so we can place the address on a priority service list. Backup power supply should be readily available, as you may not be the first to have power restored.
